About PDP

POWAY DANCE PROJECT
Poway Dance Project (PDP) is the award-winning competitive dance team of Poway High School, recognized for its excellence in jazz, lyrical, pom and contemporary dance. With a legacy spanning over a decade, PDP has earned over 32 national titles and continues to be a pillar of the local dance community.
Founded as an ASB club at Poway High School, PDP quickly evolved into a highly competitive dance team, competing at regional and national levels and traveling to places like New York and Florida to represent Poway High School on the national stage. Under the leadership of Raul Gomez, who founded and directed the team for over 10 years, PDP secured over 32 national titles.
The team is committed to artistry, growth, and excellence—values that define the heart of PDP. However, PDP is more than just a competition team— it’s a family of driven dancers who support one another and share a love for movement, performance, and connection. Whether taking the stage at community events or competing on the national level, PDP continues to inspire, uplift, and represent the best of high school dance. You’ll find the team energizing crowds at football and basketball games, pep rallies, and local showcases. Each year, PDP also produces two major dance concerts, celebrating student choreography alongside polished competition routines.

PDP is proudly supported by a Booster Club, made up of dedicated parents and generous community sponsors who help fund the team’s activities. Since PDP receives no financial support from Poway High School or the school district, fundraising and sponsorships are essential to sustaining the team’s continued success. Thank you to all who have supported throughout the years!

Meet Our Coach

Picture

Today, PDP is excited to enter an exciting new chapter as we welcome Bridget Bachman as the new coach for PDP.
Bridget Bachman grew up a competitive dancer in San Diego, training in jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary and Hip Hop from the age of 2. Her early dance career includes winning multiple national titles and assisting for Revel Dance Convention and West Coast Dance Explosion. Bridget attended Westview high school where she competed on her school’s varsity dance team for 4 years. After graduating in 2021, Bridget continued to dance apart of Devotion the movement directed by Nicole Perez and also works for Varsity’s USA dance program, teaching and choreography each summer for high schools all over the west coast. Bridget is now a full time dance instructor, coach and choreographer in San Diego, CA and is beyond grateful to share her love of dance with all of her students.
